Plamen Ivanov, PhD started his career in information technology and IT service management in 2006. At that time, he also obtained his first ITIL® v2 certification.

In 2013, he defended his second PhD in computer and engineering science in the field of IT service management systems with artificial intelligence at the Technical University of Sofia. He completed his third higher education with honours at the English University "The University of Sheffield", majoring in "Business Management, Technology, and Innovation".

Plamen Ivanov has received numerous awards and recognitions in the areas of innovation and leadership. In 2014 he was awarded the "John Atanasov" diploma by the President of the Republic of Bulgaria for scientific achievements and project development with significant contributions to IT service management. His innovative approaches have resulted in 4 IT service management patents, which he has licensed to Hewlett-Packard and related companies.

As an expert in IT service management systems, processes, and teams, he has implemented complex projects for organizations such as Vodafone Netherlands, Telekom Austria Group, the Bulgarian Government, E.ON AG, T-Systems, Équens, and Swisscom. He has extensive practical experience including skills in managing processes, service providers, and teams delivering IT services, as well as developing, implementing, and managing innovative solutions and approaches. He is the co-founder of the innovative company Gamifinno, which was been awarded the "Green Innovation Company 2020" and the "GolemiteMalki 2021" awards.

In May 2024, Plamen Ivanov is recognized as an ITIL® Brand Ambassador by PeopleCert – an acknowledgment of his significant contributions, expertise, and leadership in the field of service management and innovation. This prestigious role enables him to share his knowledge and valuable experience with the global community, contributing to the development and innovation in IT service management.

For the past 6 years, Plamen has been teaching IT service management at the New Horizons training center, and as a certified ITIL® v3 Expert and ITIL® v4 Managing Professional he has successfully trained over 300 students on an innovative approach using gamification.
